Thinking about buying a used Nissan X-Trail for your family?

Like other family favourites such as the Subaru Outback and Mazda CX-9, a used Nissan X-Trail is a fantastic choice as a family car that can roll into school pick-up and take on outdoor adventures with ease. Here’s why:

Comfort

The Nissan X-Trail is big for a mid-size SUV. While it’s not as big as the Nissan Patrol, it sits five or seven comfortably, with plenty of passenger and cargo space to accommodate any lifestyle. There’s also ISOFIX and tether anchor points to fit in child seats in the rear rows.

All Nissan X-Trail models come with the EZ Flex seating system that tilts and glides forward with the push of a button, giving you easy third row access. On higher-spec models like the ST-L and Ti / TL, you’ll also get heated seats, leather-accented seat trim, and a panoramic sunroof for the extra touch of luxury comfort.

Boot space

Split fold sliding seats are standard across the range, letting you carry passengers or cargo in a number of clever formations. So you can easily fit in your family, weekly groceries, surf gear and more. You’ll get a boot capacity of 945L with seats folded down, and 5-seater X-Trail SUVs also feature the Divide-n-Hide™ cargo system, which is a hidden false floor compartment that’s great for securing small or flat items.

The Nissan X-Trail Ti or TL models are also equipped with clever motion-activated power tailgates. The tailgate opens with a hands-free kick under the rear bumper, without having to reach for your keys too.

Convenience

On top of the hands-free tailgate, the Nissan X-Trail has a slew of smart tech that can make life easier for your whole family. The base model ST or TS has features like keyless entry and start, advanced drive-assist display, bluetooth connectivity, and heated / cooled centre console cup holders. All this and more just adds touches of ease and enjoyment that doesn’t go unnoticed on the Nissan X-Trail. You’ll also be able to find many used Nissan X-Trail SUVs with added accessories like roof racks, towbars, mudguards, and more.

Driving experience

Across the range, you get the choice of three engine types, manual or Xtronic CVT, and 2WD or 4WD. The five-seater TS and TL are the only two options if you’re after the turbo-diesel engine, and all other models have either the 2.0L or 2.5L petrol engine. The higher driving position of the X-Trail provides great road visibility, and is comfortable and easy to drive as well.

If you’re mostly going to be zipping around urban roads, you’ll be more than happy with a petrol version used Nissan X-Trail. For off-roading and long road trips, features like hill descent control and traction control adapts to changing conditions off the beaten track.

Safety

With all the innovative driving features and solid build of the Nissan X-Trail, you’ll be delighted to hear that it doesn’t compromise on safety at all. The maximum 5-star ANCAP ratings on all Nissan X-Trail variants proves just that.

Safety equipment like forward collision warning, intelligent emergency braking, dual, front, and side airbags are standard on all variants. Going up the range, you’ll find blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and lane departure warning as well.
