Used Mazda CX-30 buying guide

The Mazda CX-30 looks great as a practical and stylish compact SUV, featuring a comfortable cabin that’s also spacious for its size. It’s also one of the examples of how Mazda listens to customers. They’ve created an attractive bridge between the Mazda CX-3 and CX-5, catering to drivers who love the Mazda 3, but would also love a bit more ground clearance. With practical designs inside and out, and a comfortable and smooth drive, a used Mazda CX-30 is a fantastic choice for city driving, school runs, weekend trips and more.

Mazda CX-30 models: what’s included

Like any other Mazda car, the Mazda CX-30 range has quite a few variants to choose from. Here’s an overview:

Mazda CX-30 G20 Pure

The Mazda CX-30 G20 Pure is the base model of the range, starting with a FWD 2.0L Skyactiv-G petrol engine with 6-speed auto transmission. Some equipment highlights include 16-inch alloy wheels, widescreen colour infotainment display, keyless push button start, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, blind spot monitoring, bluetooth connectivity, driver attention alert, electric parking brake, forward collision alert, high beam control, hill holder, lane keep assist, rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, reversing camera, and 60/40 split fold rear seats. You’re getting all the essentials for daily driving on the G20 Pure, with good tech and stylish looks to ride around town.

Mazda CX-30 G20 Evolve

Additional to the G20 Pure, the Mazda CX-30 G20 Evolve gets 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, leather-wrapped gear shift knob and steering wheel, an overhead storage box, paddle shifters, and a rear seat centre fold-down armrest with cupholders. It’s competent for city driving, offering a few more comfort and convenient features especially for those in the front row.

Mazda CX-30 G20 Touring / G25 Touring

The G20 Touring and G25 Touring carry the same features, with the main difference coming down to their 2.0L and 2.5L petrol engine powertrains. They feature keyless entry, black leather seats, 10-way power adjustment driver seat, front parking sensors, and an auto-dimming rear view mirror. As you move up the range with the Mazda CX-30 Touring models, you’ll get more of a premium feel and driver tech that makes your drive more relaxing.

Mazda CX-30 G20 Astina / G25 Astina

The Mazda CX-30 Astina models also split into the 2.0L and 2.5L petrol versions, adding a 360-degree view monitor, adaptive cruise control, driver attention alert, front cross traffic alert, heated front seats and steering, power sliding and tilt sunroof, either black or white leather seat trim, premium speakers, and a remote power tailgate. Interiors are exceptionally plush and safety tech offers a lot of support, firmly positioning the Astina variant to be the most polished and refined of the range.

Is a used Mazda CX-30 safe?

Even though the Mazda CX-30 hasn’t been around for a long time, it’s backed by Mazda’s strong reputation for designing some of the safest cars on the market. Seven airbags, rear cross-traffic alert, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and traffic sign recognition are all standard across the range. Another thing that can give you the peace of mind that you’re driving a safe used Mazda CX-30 is their 5-star ANCAP ratings.

What are the benefits of buying a used Mazda CX-30?

As we’ve already covered, the Mazda CX-30 SUV is still a relatively new model. That means two things: you can expect modern tech across the range, and you can find many used Mazda CX-30 SUVs with remaining manufacturer warranty on them. Buying a used Mazda CX-30 is also a great opportunity to get a higher trim level on the same budget as buying new, and even snag a car with extras like roof racks, carpet mats, or cargo accessories. All in all, buying a used Mazda CX-30 can be a smart decision that gets you a great car with modern features and reliable performance.
