The Ford Mustang holds dream car status for a reason. Its iconic style, rich history, and exhilarating V8 engine is what fuels the pony car’s success. There’s been many changes to the Mustang over the years, but has kept up its ‘bad boy’ reputation as a thrilling, yet approachable performance car. Today, you’ll find many used Ford Mustang cars with a range of engine options, trims and racing stripes, and modern features that suit a wide range of drivers.
There’s two common models to choose from when you’re buying a used Ford Mustang, both available as a fastback coupe or convertible. Here’s an overview:
The Ford Mustang EcoBoost starts with a 2.3L turbo petrol engine. You can opt for either the 6-speed manual transmission or 10-speed auto with paddle shifters on the Fastback, and 10-speed auto is the only option for the convertible model.
Features include 19x9-inch alloy wheels, five different drive modes, customisable ambient lighting, leather gear knob and stitched shifter boot, multi-function tilt and telescopic leather steering wheel, keyless entry with push button start, heated and cooled leather accented seats, bluetooth connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, premium sound system, rear parking sensors, and a whole lot more. The EcoBoost is designed more so for agility over power, with a well-balanced build as a sports car.
The Mustang GT also comes as either a fastback or convertible, with a powerful 5.0L V8 engine, 6-speed manual or 10-speed auto transmission. Equipment on the Mustang GT is similar to the EcoBoost, but you opt for features like forged alloy wheels and paddle shifters. The Mustang GT is the more popular choice, specifically for its V8 engine that packs a punch, and rev matching transmission on the Fastback model.
The Ford Mustang shows off like no other. It wakes up with a lively growl once you hit the starter, ready to unleash the V8’s power and excitement that comes with it. Selectable drive modes also offer adaptability on different driving conditions, especially with Sport+ mode that provides more responsive steering and throttle response, and Track mode that’s made for true enthusiasts. Ford delivers on driving comfort too, with heated and cooled leather seats, even more so if you choose a used Ford Mustang with the RECARO sports seats.
Buying a used Ford Mustang can be a great way to own your dream car. Mustangs have been around for over 50 years, and there’s a wide range of used Ford Mustang cars available for all kinds of budgets. With the long wait times for new cars today, choosing to buy a used Ford Mustang can also get you much closer to your ride much faster.
