Which Tesla model is for me?

There’s four models to choose from when you’re buying a used Tesla car. Here’s what you need to know about them:

Tesla Model S

Widely loved for its impressive performance and advanced tech, the Model S is Tesla’s flagship EV. It’s designed with versatility in mind, with powerful capabilities, an aerodynamic build, and plenty of tech. Self-driving is also available along with 360° cameras and sensors, so driving is kept stress-free on the Model S.

Tesla Model 3

The Model 3 is offered as either a standard rear-wheel drive, or an all-wheel drive long range or performance model. It’s currently the highest-selling EV in Australia by far, and with its fastback sedan body style, 20-inch wheels, performance brakes and lowered suspension, the Model 3 suits drivers looking for a sporty thrill.

Tesla Model X

The crossover SUV Model X is most recognisable with its falcon wing doors, and is available with five, six, or seven seats. The DeLorean style doors are great for getting in and out of the rear seats, or loading up the car for a long trip too. Like other Tesla models, it’s equipped with autopilot navigation, a huge touchscreen display, and a long battery range that ensures a smooth and comfortable drive.

Tesla Model Y

The Model Y is Tesla’s latest model, and fits somewhere in between the Model 3 and Model X. It’s a compact SUV that seats five, with a 7-seater model coming soon as well. Combining all the practicalities of an SUV and innovative Tesla technology, the Model Y is quickly becoming the top choice for drivers looking for a flashy and versatile EV.

Where can I charge my Tesla car?

All Tesla EVs have to be charged with a supply of 120-480 volts. There are a few charging options available, from home chargers to public charging stations, to Tesla supercharger networks.

For the ultimate convenience and ease, getting a wall connector installed at home is the solution for you. All you need is a qualified electrician to assess your home and connect the charging station to the grid.

If charging at home isn’t an option for you or you live in an apartment block that doesn’t have wall chargers, public charging networks are a great option too. There are stations all throughout Australia, with more and more supercharger networks in development too. Public stations may charge fees per hour, or you can find plenty of free ones as well.

How safe are used Tesla cars?

Tesla cars have only been around for less than a decade, but they’ve already built up a strong foundation for safety. From their impact-protecting chassis, to features like auto emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure avoidance, Tesla cars are tested and designed to protect against unpredictable conditions. Are used Tesla cars worth buying?

A look at the long wait times for new Tesla cars can quickly turn anyone to the used Tesla market. Buying a used Tesla is a more affordable option for many buyers.
